Canned vs. Frozen Vs. Fresh Vegetables

In general, all are good sources of nutrients. Canned and frozen vegetables need to be processed rig

Canned: 

  • watch out for high salt content 
  • rinsing canned vegetables higher in salt content may help decrease sodium intake 
  • look for "no sodium" claim


Frozen: 

  • watch out for salt content
  • vegetables in sauces tend to be much higher in sodium 


Fresh: 

  • fresh picked vegetables will have the best quality of nutrients
  • roasting some fresh vegetables can make certain nutrients more available
